RONALD MCDONALD HOUSE
FMG DESIGN

Before

After

BACKGROUND INFORMATION
Ronald McDonald House Houston has eight facilities throughout the Texas Medical Center, where they provide a home away from home to families with seriously ill children. FMG Design was contracted to develop new innovative graphics, wayfinding, and donor recognition display for the facility.

I worked on this project under the management of Ryan Keen. Ryan and Cliff Maxwell focused primarily on the interior donor graphics and room signage while I was given the task of designing the exterior donor graphics. At the request of the client, we reused the existing walls from a previous donor recognition display. Now, it's not only a donor recognition display but also an area where the kids can "draw on the walls" and express themselves outside in the sunlight. In life, we're always told, "don't draw on the walls" . . . "keep within the lines" . . . it warms my heart to think that a child who's away from home and feeling ill can ignore all these rules and express themselves through art.
